The Boston Celtics Trade Isaiah Thomas to the Cleveland Cavaliers

In a blockbuster move, the Boston Celtics have traded All-Star point guard Isaiah Thomas to the Cleveland Cavaliers.

The trade, which was first reported by ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski, also sends Jae Crowder, Ante Zizic, and a 2018 first round pick to the Cavaliers. In return, the Celtics receive Kyrie Irving.

The trade comes as a surprise, as Thomas was thought to be a key part of the Celtics' future. However, the Celtics have been struggling this season, and Irving is a significant upgrade over Thomas.

Irving is a four-time All-Star and one of the best shooters in the NBA. He is also a proven winner, having helped the Cavaliers win the NBA championship in 2016.

The Celtics are hoping that Irving can help them return to contention for the NBA championship. They will now have a Big Three of Irving, Gordon Hayward, and Al Horford.

The Cavaliers, meanwhile, are getting a young, talented point guard in Thomas. Thomas is a two-time All-Star and one of the most explosive scorers in the NBA.

The Cavaliers are hoping that Thomas can help them win another NBA championship. They will now have a Big Three of LeBron James, Kevin Love, and Thomas.
