Former Secretary General of the Department of Agriculture Food and the Marine
Dublin, Ireland - Aidan ODriscoll has been appointed Secretary-General at the Department of Justice, nine months after the position became vacant. ODriscoll was previously Secretary General of the Department of Agriculture Food and the Marine, a position he was appointed to in January 2015.
ODriscoll joined the civil service in 1977 as an Administrative Officer and subsequently trained as a Policy Analyst in the Department of Finance. He has held a number of senior positions in the civil service, including Assistant Secretary in the Department of the Taoiseach and Deputy Secretary in the Department of Justice.
ODriscoll's appointment as Secretary-General at the Department of Justice comes at a time when the department is undergoing a significant transformation program. The program, which was launched in 2016, is designed to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the department.
