1991 Jeep Cherokee Windshield Wiper Wiring Diagram

Wiring a WiperWasher Switch

Connecting the Wires

Step 1: Identify the Wires

Refer to the wiring diagram to determine the colors and functions of the wires on the washer side of the switch. Typically, the wires will be labeled as: * 12V Constant (usually red) * Ground (usually black) * Wiper Motor (usually green) * Washer Motor (usually blue)

Step 2: Cut the Wire

Once you have identified the correct wire, cut it approximately 6 inches from the switch. This will give you enough wire to work with.

Step 3: Connect the Wires

Connect the cut wire to the appropriate wire on the opposite side of the switch. For example, if you are connecting the wiper motor wire, connect it to the wiper motor wire on the other side of the switch.

Step 4: Secure the Connections

Use electrical tape or crimp connectors to secure the connections. Ensure the connections are secure and insulated to prevent short circuits.

Testing the Switch

Once the wires are connected, test the switch to make sure it is working properly. Turn the switch to the different positions and verify that the wiper and washer motors are functioning as expected.

Additional Tips

* Use a multimeter to test the wires and ensure they are receiving the correct voltage. * If the switch is not working properly, check the connections and wiring to identify any issues. * Refer to the vehicle's service manual for specific wiring instructions and troubleshooting tips.
